Pressure Vessels:
ASME Code
Simplified
Phillip Ellenberger
Get Up to
Speed with the ASME Code
Revised and updated, this classic engineering
tool simplifies the tasks of understanding and applying the complex
ASME Code for fabricating, purchasing, testing, and inspecting
pressure vessels.
Clearly explaining changes in B31.3, this
Eighth Edition makes it easier to achieve Code compliance on any
pressure-vessel-related project, to obtain ASME Code certification,
and to meet performance goals in the most cost-effective way
possible.
Pressure Vessels explains the value of
Code standards, shows you how the Code applies to each component,
and clarifies requirements that may be confusing. This valuable text
also features tables for calculating allowable internal pressures.
You'll learn how to comply with ASME standards for:
* Safety procedures for design and
maintenance
* Inspection and quality control
* Welding
* Nondestructive testing
* Fabrication and installation
* Pressure vessels in nuclear power plants
Filled with helpful solutions to typical
problems, the new edition of this handy working tool will give you
the expertise you need to deal with all the changes in requirements
for pressure vessels.
Pressure vessels are found everywhere -- from
basement boilers to gasoline tankers -- and their usefulness is
surpassed only by the hazardous consequences if they are not
properly constructed and maintained.
This essential reference guides mechanical
engineers and technicians through the maze of the continually
updated International Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes that govern
safety, design, fabrication, and inspection.
* 30% new information including coverage of the recent ASME B31.3
code
